June 2024
One of the main focuses of Project Adopt A Village (PAAV) and the PAAV team is promoting educational opportunities for children and adults. Good education is often the "ticket" for enhancing the ability of individuals to escape the clutches of poverty. The ongoing efforts include:
- Paying monthly school fees for students when parents are unable to do so.
- Provision of school supplies like school bags, notebooks, textbooks, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons.
- Providing monthly food assistance for families with HIV and in dire need so they can send their children to school.
- Teaching educational programs at elementary and secondary schools about health – specifically regarding communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Provision of sanitary pads to girls in school allowing them to continue attendance without interruption.
- Distributing health-related leaflets, posters, and teaching materials.
- Providing school textbooks and assistive materials for school libraries.
- Giving schools soccer balls and other sports equipment that enhance physical education.
- Funding travel for high school graduates to attend their first year of college.
- Each year a team from Living Word Community Church in Red Lion, Pa comes in July to teach a course of ESL (English as a second language) to elementary and middle school age students.
These educational activities would not be possible without your faithful support and financial contributions. Thank you very much for helping to make these educational opportunities happen!
