Banchi and Amanuel's Story
My name is Banchi. I'm 34 years old. I'm married, and my husband and I have one son. For as long as I can remember, we've been living in poverty. My husband is a daily laborer, and tries his best to support us, but it has become increasingly difficult for him to find a job. Due to my health condition, I have been under the support of Dr. Frew and PAAV for my medical care and monthly food supplies. Recently, after my health improved, I got hired at the Health Center at the Mother Support Department.
The best help we received from PAAV was the coverage of school expenses for our only son, Amanuel, who is 7 years old and is a first grader. Before that, I tried to teach him at home because we could not afford to send him to school. He now goes to a private elementary school in Sendafa. PAAV has been providing payment for school tuition every month, a school bag, notebooks, pencils, and other educational materials. He's a quiet child, and he aspires to become a journalist. He is very active physically. In his school, he's known for being a fast runner. He is a happy boy. We're blessed.
