Improve Medical Care
- Provide free medical services, including annual surgical clinic to address tumors, cataracts, etc.
- Provide family planning
- Provide HIV antiretroviral medications and in-home care for bedbound patients with HIV/AIDS
- Provide 1 kg of iodized salt monthly to prevent goiter
- Provide multivitamins with iron to prevent anemia and boost immune systems.
- Provide anti-parasite medications
- Provide an annual medical/surgical camp to care for 3,500-4,500 patients every July, including cataract surgery, general surgery, primary care, medical eye care, and dentistry
- Staff a primary care/HIV-AIDS clinic two days per week year round
Since 2006, PAAV has had over 65,000 patient visits offering medical aid, health services, and treatments for HIV/AIDS and many other illnesses.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE
- Provide more primary care and preventative services to healthy and sick individuals
- More funding available for medications and supplies for more patients
- Enhance and develop home health care teams and system
- Increase the medical campaigns
- Improvements to Sendafa Health Center
- Further develop outreach and care to HIV/AIDS patients and families
- Enhance services currently available (e.g. labor and delivery, minor surgery)
- Develop dental and eye center
- Establish emergency room
- More exam rooms
- Provide needed instruments and equipment (e.g. x-ray, lab services, ultrasound)
